A New Health Education Program

The English word for doctor comes from the Latin “docere” meaning “to teach.” From my earliest days as a physician, I have felt strongly that educating people about how to Stay Healthy is a central part of my vocation in addition to evaluating and treating patients as safely as possible.

I want to empower individuals with helpful and practical health information, inspired in part by the barefoot doctors of ancient China, who were expected to keep people healthy and not just treat them when they became ill. This is real health care rather than the disease care that predominates in our current medical system.

For many years my teaching focus was through writing and my first book, Staying Healthy with the Seasons, was published in 1981 (revised and updated in 2003). Those early days as an author coincided with my own learning about the importance of nutrition for better health and my discovery of the cleansing/detox process. I did my first juice cleanse in 1976 and was truly surprised by the positive results. I was so impressed by the healing benefits of what I call The Purification Process that I have done at least two periods of cleansing every year since that time. I have also guided thousands of people through detoxes over the last 45 years, initially through in-person classes and now online

I now have five self-guided courses available on the Thinkific learning platform that encapsulate my many years of teaching on this vital healing modality in a user-friendly interactive format.
