New Year’s Detox 2023

Dr. Haas calls detox programs  “the missing link in Western nutrition” and he has been leading classes in this important healing therapy since 1987 both at PMCM and, more recently, online.

He not only teach these courses, but participates in them himself because this isn’t simply a health concept for him but part of his lifestyle—an intrinsic part of my seasonal health program. So he is excited to be offering this well-tested and proven healing program again in January.

This is the ideal time to help your body reset after the holidays and welcome the NEW YEAR with a fresh start.

Dr. Haas is offering two ways for you to join this healing journey:

OPTION 1 - You can join the complete online course, which includes 3 recorded webinars and lots of helpful support materials plus two live webinars with me (Jan 7 and 21) where I’ll add insights and answer your questions so you can personalize your detox program. There’s a list of everything you’ll get in the full course at the end of this article.

More about the Benefits of Detox

The idea of using food as medicine has a long history and so does the philosophy and practice of not eating, of fasting. These centuries-old therapies are still relevant and useful today, however they are often dismissed or ignored by the conventional medical establishment, so I am always interested to discover new research that supports this ancient healing wisdom. A study recently reviewed in the Harvard Gazette (In Pursuit of Healthy Aging) explored how periods of dietary restriction, like detox and fasting, might actually slow aging. Understanding what is happening at the cellular level has enormous potential – as one of the authors of the study says, “our findings open up new avenues in the search for therapeutic strategies that will reduce our likelihood of developing age-related diseases as we get older.”

This is good news and an important insight because detox becomes more and more important as we age and the consequences of our lifestyle habits accumulate for better or worse.

My own experience with the healing benefits of detox dates back to 1975 when I did my first juice cleanse. Having been trained as conventional Western doctor, this experience was a real transformation and renewal for me on many levels—not only physically, but also emotionally, mentally and even spiritually.

Since that time, various detox and rejuvenation practices have been key components of my therapeutic toolkit, both for me personally and for thousands of my patients. In fact I consider cleansing/fasting/detoxificationwhich are different degrees of the same process of reduced toxin intake and enhanced toxin elimination, to be the missing link in Western nutrition and a key to the health and vitality of our society.

This interactive course is based on my book The Detox Diet, which offers a variety of different approaches – some seasonal, some addressing specific substances like caffeine, sugar or alcohol and others that help identify problematic food reactions and allergies. The beauty of the winter class is that you can cleanse while still eating food and staying nourished and warm in the colder months. This isn’t necessarily what most people think about when they hear the word “detox” but I can attest to the effectiveness of this approach through my experience with thousands of patients over the years. This is also a great way to begin your new year and set a course for greater health and vitality in the coming months.

I hope you’ll join me either as part of the full course HERE or for my 2 live webinars HERE
